Is this legal?Psilocybin consumption is regulated by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and is legal in Oregon only at approved service centers by trained and licensed facilitators. You can find all of OHA’s rules on psilocybin regulations here: OHA Psilocybin Services

How much should I take?During intake, you facilitator will help guide you on best dosages for you. Psilocybin dosage recommendations can vary based on a variety of factors such as: Set: This refers to an individual’s mind”set”, and includes various mental factors which can shape the outcome of an experience. Preparation and expectations are important to consider prior to a psilocybin journey, and your faclitator will provide resources and techniques to increase the likelihood of a positive experience. Interactions with Antidepressants: Tryptamines such psilocybin present low risk of serotonin toxicity when taken in tandem with SSRIs or alone. However, research indicates that SSRIs and SNRIs may weaken the effects of psilocybin Diet & Nutrition: Taking psilocybin on an empty stomach will speed up absorption and on-set time, and possibly increase the trip’s intensity. Additionally, a poor diet can have an impact on your current serotonin levels. Ask your facilitator for more information. Individual Differences: People can have vastly different sensitivities and tolerances to psilocybin. Certain medications and conditions can vary the intensity for each individual as well. This is why the general rule of thumb is to start low dose and then increase it gradually. Setting: The environment in which one consumes the mushrooms can profoundly influence the journey. Unstuck provides a safe, comfortable, and low-stimulation environment for optimal client experiences. Context: Your facilitator can assist with determining an appropriate dosage for each individual based on a variety of factors such as: previous psychedelic experiences, comfort with psychedelics, reason for the experience, intention, etc. Dosages by milligrams of psilocybin analyte (the psychoactive compound in mushrooms): Low Dose: 10 – 25 mg Moderate Dose: 25– 35 mg High Dose: 35 – 45 mg Very High Dose: 45-50 mg

Will my experience be different based on dose?Yes. Here are general experiences based on consumer reports with each level: Low Dose (10-25mg) There is a mild effect and neural pathway changes with some visual enhancement (i.e. brighter colours, clearer sounds, etc.) and possible auditory and visual blending. Low-Moderate Dose (25-30mg) Bright colors and visuals (objects may move /”breathe”). Patterns become apparent. Vast increase in creativity as neural networks are being changed in the brain. High-Moderate Dose (30-35mg) Overt visuals- curved, warped, and/or kaleidoscope patterns seen on walls, faces etc. Some mild hallucinations. Closed eye hallucinations become 3-dimensional. Possible confusion of the senses (i.e. seeing sounds as colors, etc.). Time distortions and “moments of eternity” may occur. High Dose (35-45mg) Strong hallucinations, i.e. objects morphing into other objects. Destruction or multiple splitting of the ego. (Auditory or visual hallucinations, or you find that you are feeling contradictory things simultaneously). Some loss of reality. Time can become meaningless. Out of body experiences and blending of the senses. Very High Dose (45-50mg) Loss of visual connection with reality. The senses may not seem to function in the normal way. Total loss of ego (or “ego death”). Merging of self with space, other objects, or the universe. The actual universe within which things are normally perceived may become altered. Experiences of parallel universes/dimensions may occur. Mystical or spiritual experiences are often reported.

How do I consume psilocybin? At Unstuck, we offer a few options for ingesting of the mushrooms: Dried mushrooms brewed in a tea of your choosing Powdered mushrooms mixed with applesauce Whole dried fungus eaten in its natural form An individual’s experience with psilocybin, the taste of psilocybin (some find the taste off-putting), and intensity of the experience will be considered when determining best ingestion method. Your facilitator will assist with this.

What kind of psilocybin mushroom will I be taking?Labratory-tested Psilocybin cubensis. This is a species of psychedelic mushroom containing the psychoactive compound: psilocybin. It is one of the most common species of psychedelic mushroom and can be found in many parts of the world, including North, Central, and South America, as well as Southeast Asia and Australia. In Oregon under Measure 109, only licensed manufacturers may grow psilocybin cubensis.

What should I expect during a session?Every individual’s experience with psilocybin can vary widely based on dosage, mindset, setting, individual biology, and other factors. As with any potent substance, approaching psilocybin with respect, preparation, and caution is crucial. Our qualified facilitators are here to help with intention setting, creating a nurturing environment, and individualizing each session to amplify and enhance positive experiences. Common reported effects from psilocybin ingestion: Onset (~15-60 minutes post-ingestion): Some initial effects may be a sensation of energy or excitement, mild visual changes, and some physical sensations like tingling or warmth. Nausea is a common symptom but usually subsides fairly quickly. Duration: The main effects of a psilocybin session typically last 4-6 hours, but residual effects can persist longer, and the total experience can last up to 8 hours. After the primary effects wane, there’s often a period of “come down” and gradual return to baseline. Visual Effects: Many users report visual enhancements and distortions. Colors can become brighter and more vibrant. Patterns may seem to move or warp, and closed-eye visuals can be quite vivid and intricate. Altered Perception of Time: Time can seem to slow down, speed up, or lose its meaning entirely. Minutes can feel like hours and vice versa. Emotional Amplification: Emotions are often heightened. This also means that any pre-existing emotions or thoughts can be magnified. Ego Dissolution: At higher doses, one might experience a sense of ego-loss (also called “ego death”), which is the complete loss of one’s self-identity, replaced with a sense of “cosmic consciousness”. Deep Insight & Reflection: Many users report profound insights about their lives, relationships, and the nature of reality. Sense of Connection: A feeling of interconnectedness with nature, other people, and the universe often occurs, including a sense of oneness with everything. Spiritual or Mystical Experiences: Some individuals report spiritual, transcendent, or mystical events. Physical Sensations: This can include changes in body temperature, nausea (particularly if ingested as whole mushrooms), shakiness or shivering, increased awareness of body sensations/positions, lightness, yawning/sighing, etc. This is thought to be the body releasing energies and emotions and can often be exhausting but revitalizing. Heightened Sensory Perception: Sounds might be clearer, touch more acute, and even taste and smell can be more intense. Challenging Experiences: Not all aspects of a journey are positive. Some might confront difficult emotions, memories, or fears. This can be unsettling, but also ultimately therapeutically rewarding. Integration Period: After the immediate effects, there’s often a need for integration, where one processes the insights and experiences of the journey. You will be contacted within 72 hours after your session by your facilitator to process your journey, but full integration can take days, weeks, or even longer and can involve journaling, talking with others, or seeking therapeutic guidance.

After my session, how long do I have to wait at the service center before I can leave?Oregon Health Authority regulates the amount of time you wait at a service center before you can leave. This depends on the amount of psilocybin that you consume, and when you and your facilitator agree you are safe to leave the premises: For clients consuming equal or greater than 2.5 mg and less than 5 mg of psilocybin analyte, the minimum duration of the administration session shall be one hour. For clients consuming equal or greater than 5 mg and less than 10 mg of psilocybin analyte, the minimum duration of the administration session shall be two hours. For clients consuming equal or greater than 10 mg and less than 25 mg of psilocybin analyte, the minimum duration of the administration session shall be four hours. For clients consuming equal or greater than 25 mg and up to 35 mg of psilocybin analyte, the minimum duration of the administration session shall be five hours. For clients consuming equal or greater than 35 mg and up to 50 mg of psilocybin analyte, the minimum duration of the administration session shall be six hours.
-
Is it safe? All of our psilocybin products are thoroughly tested for potency and safety by state-licensed laboratories, and all testing results will be clearly indicated on the label of the product you are taking.
-
Can I bring someone to sit with me other than my facilitator?According to the Oregon Health Authority the only people allowed in an administration area during the administration session are licensed service center staff, facilitators, interpreters, or a client support person as defined by Oregon Administrative Regulations (to help with a specific, identified medical or communication need). If you would like to experience this journey with others, we recommend a group session. Please see our “Services” page for more info.
-
What if I do not live locally? We welcome clients from all locations. For an actual psilocybin session, you’ll need to travel to Corvallis, Oregon. We will discuss options for you for local accommodations and how to plan for your trip. Please see our “Visit” page or speak with your facilitator about arrangements. For added convenience, our preparation and integration session are also offered via online.
-
Can I drive home after my session? For the safety of our clients and others on the road, we do not allow anyone to drive themselves home after a session. We will create a Transportation Plan with you during your preparation/intake session to ensure your safety to and from our center.
